Daniel S. Ko, Founder & CEO.

Daniel has been an entrepreneur since early 1997. Immediately prior to QIXO, Daniel was President of Patheo where he teamed up with a partner who was from the airline consolidator industry to create the first online consolidator-booking engine in the U.S.  Patheo’s booking engine is now widely used by the top airline consolidators.  Daniel worked closely with the airline consolidators, the online and traditional travel agencies, the online travelers, and the CRS's, such as Sabre and Apollo.

Prior to Patheo, Daniel founded CDROMNOW where he developed litigation document management software and scanned documents for law firms. CDROMNOW later partnered with Attorneyetal.com to develop the first interactive CLE (Continuing Legal Education) CDROMs to be approved by the state bar to replace live lectures. With CLEAnywhere, attorneys have been fulfilling their CLE requirements at home or on vacation. Over the past two years, hundreds of attorneys across the U.S. have purchased CLEAnywhere.

Prior to CDROMNOW, he practiced corporate tax law at Skadden, Arps. He has a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.S. with Honors in Applied Mathematics from Caltech.

Kim E. Lumbard, CTO.

For over 10 years, Kim has developed his expertise in software development, technical management, and scalable architectures. At ORACLE he was the lead developer on the Regression Tester for Forms 4.5, a critical piece of the GUI Release 11. He was a primary developer of LaunchPad's eWallet, taking the project from initial conception to public release in five weeks. He has considerable experience in the Internet sphere, having worked for startups like LaunchPad, EntryPoint, and StreetPrices. Kim also has an extensive research background, refining performance critical imaging algorithms at national labs like MIT Lincoln Labs and Jet Propulsion Laboratory, exploring the field of Information Theory at Caltech, and doing classified research at the Institute for Defense Analyses.

He has a passion for academics and continues research in his spare time; recently he has made headway on the Twin Prime Conjecture with an eye toward application to the Goldbach Conjecture.

He graduated with Honors in Applied Mathematics at Caltech.

Grant Kim, Director of Business Development

Grant's long-time interest in travel and the Internet has naturally landed him among the folks at QIXO. Prior to QIXO, he was an Intellectual Property Associate at Irell & Manella LLP. He also served for one year in AmeriCorps in urban areas of Los Angeles.

Grant graduated from Caltech with honors with a B.S. in Engineering and Applied Sciences. He also received a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Terry Chay, Director of Engineering

Terry was recently a director of engineering at ZipAsia, an Asian portal. He created sophisticated XML-enabled web sites presenting the same content in different languages and designs. He is experienced in implementing all XML-technologies, such as SOAP, RPC, XSL, WML (XML for WAP), VML (Voice XML), HDML (XML for PDAs), etc. Prior to ZipAsia, Terry was working on a Ph.D. in Theoretical Condensed Matter Non-Linear Physics at the University of Illinois, Champaign. He also worked as a software developer at the Neuroscience Division at the University of Pittsburgh. Terry has a B.S. in Physics from Caltech and a Masters in Physics from the University of Illinois.

QIXO also has an exceptionally talented pool of software engineers, many of whom are Caltech graduates with majors in Physics, Material Science, Applied Mathematics or Computer Science or are experts in their fields having worked at RedHat, Microsoft, and Internet startups.

We are always looking for talented and like-minded people to join our team. Would you like to join us?
